The quote above is straight from WordPress.org . I do not disagree with it. In my experience using this software is the simplest and best way for a non technical person to edit web pages. WP can be used as a basic web content management system even though its claim to fame is personal blogs (web log entries & collections). Â
There are a couple of ways to get the most value out of a WP installation. Themes and plugins are keys to successful, very capable WP web sites. Both significantly enhance the capabilities of a web site and are readily available at no cost. Themes allow changing the look of a web site. Certain themes add more functionality in the area of content management. View some theme options on their web site. Plugins enhance the operation of a site by allowing extended options. One example is a plugin that allows users to fill out forms in order to submit emails securely. Other plugins provide technical details for automating photo galleries, web site statistics, Podcast publications and more.
